| Pamper yourself to Beautiful Skin |

As stated before, you don’t need perfect skin to have flawless makeup. Nevertheless, I always suggest that everyone start a good skin regimen and be consistent with it. Whether it’s taking the time to exfoliate your skin twice a week or taking a monthly trip to the spa, it’s all worth it in the end. But let’s face the reality, not everyone can afford to visit the spa once or twice a month. So, here is a suggestion: Use what you have in your kitchen. Yes, I said your kitchen. You would be surprised to know that everything you need is right in your kitchen. Check out a few DIY mini facials you can try at home or at a slumber party with your Clubgirlz.
Herbal Tea Face Steam Boil some water and let cool for about 2 minutes. Once water is somewhat cool, add your favorite herbal tea and pour the hot water over it. Grab a towel and place on top of your head. Move face towards the bowl and allow the steam to open your pores. If the steam is too hot, step away for a minute or two. Steam your face for about 5 minutes. At this point, you can try any of the masks below or be creative and try your own. You can even steam your face alone and close pores with cold water Tea Recommendation: Green Tea, Lavender & Chamomile, Lemon & Honey, Peppermint Herbs: Thyme, Basil, Rosemary, etc Benefits: Open pores; help loosen impurities in the skin and great for deep cleansing .
Yo-Honey Soothing Mask ½ cup of yogurt 2 Tablespoon of Honey 1 teaspoon Lemon juice In a small bowl, add yogurt, honey & lemon juice. Mix well and apply to face. Leave mask on for 10 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water. Again make sure you moisturize with your favorite moisturizer! (Check out “What’s your skin type” article for a few moisturizer recommendations) Benefits: Great for most skin types. This mask hydrates the skin and leaves a smooth and radiant finish!
Creamy Brown Sugar Scrub ½ cup of Brown Sugar 2 Tablespoon of Honey 1 Tablespoon of Olive Oil Combine all ingredients and mix well. Gently apply scrub to a wet face in a circular motion. Avoid contact with your eyes. Do not over scrub and rinse with lukewarm water. This scrub can be done once or twice a week. Also remember to moisturize. Benefits: This scrub is good for most skin types. It helps maintain a clean, radiant and smooth skin. The brown sugar is used to exfoliate the skin, which removes dead skin on the face. While the honey and olive oil moisturizes and keeps your skin feeling soft. You can also use this scrub on your lips if you are prone to chapped lips.
Baking Soda Mask
Benefits: This mask works well for Acne prone & Oily skin. It helps reduce unwanted blemishes and excessive oiliness. This mask can be done 2 twice a week for Noticeable results!! (I love it) |
