| Seasons Change and so does Hair Color |
| Written by Nina Reed | |
Fall is right around the corner and most of you Clubgirlz might be in search of a look to compliment the season. If you are considering a new look you can simply dye your hair or get highlights. Before you grab your gloves and box of color check out these helpful tips!
1. Leave it to the professionals. If it’s your first time changing your hair color you might want to go to a salon and have it professionally done. It’s not a science project, it’s your hair! Make sure the person who works on your hair knows what they are doing and don’t hesitate to ask questions.
2. If it’s your first time and you are not sure how your end result will turn out try a semi permanent color. It will wash out within a month so if you do not like it you can try another new look or use a permanent dye similar to what you selected before.
3. Chose a color that looks best on YOU. Even though that platinum blonde hair looks good on Jane it might not look so hot on you. When you are selecting your new color let your eye color and skin tone lead you to the right dye;Warm skin tones and dark eyes look best with dark and rich hair colors.Light Blondes, reds, and lighter colors do not compliment cool skin tones. Cool tones can try some edgier colors like fire engine red or deep plum colors.
4. Read the directions carefully. I do not suggest dyeing your hair the first time by yourself but if it’s a risk you are willing to take- make sure you read the directions before diving into it.
5. Take care of your color treated hair. Make sure you buy shampoos and conditioners that are going to preserve the color. A good example is Garnier Fructis Color Shield System; it is a product that is made for color treated hair. There is nothing cute about hair that lacks moisture on top of fading color.
Remember- look for something that might enhance your eye color and skin tone. Now that you read these five helpful tips you should be on the way to a new, still beautiful you!
*Natural alternative: If you want a new color but you do not want to put chemicals in your hair, you might want to research henna. Henna is an Indian plant that can strengthen hair and change its color. If you are interested in henna send a comment and I’ll let you know more about it.
