Introducing Effie & Fashion Lounge NYC

"They" said it couldn't be done; "They" said it wouldn't work; "They" said it was too risky.

Meet one young woman who decided to ignore what "They" said in order to start her own Boutique and live life on her own terms.

Her name is Effie and you should get to know her so that the next time "They" say it cant be done, you can tell them that Effie did it and so can you.

TCG: Who is Effie?
EFFIE: Effie is your average 23 year old girl that likes to work hard while still making time to have fun and party with friends.
TCG: What is Fashion Lounge NYC?
EFFIE: Fashion Lounge NYC is a trendy boutique that carries a great selection of today's hottest items.(Located - 32-43 Francis Lewis Blvd.Bayside, NY, 11358)
TCG: What makes Fashion Lounge different from all the other clothing stores?
EFFIE: Everything at Fashion Lounge is hand picked for the trendy girl in all of us. Our philosophy is styles come and go, so why waste a lot of money on the "look of the moment" ? we try to keep our prices at an affordable level, nothing at Fashion lounge is over $50.00 .
TCG: Do you consider yourself a fashionista and why? or why not?
EFFIE: I think people often misinterpret the word Fashionista as meaning someone who is on top of the latest trends and "in style"...to me it actually means the opposite. To be a Fashionista is to follow your own sense of style and ultimately cultivate your own trademarks and looks; it's about taking chances with fashion, not following it.
Some people are afraid to listen to themselves when it comes to style, and opt to copy whatever they see in magazines or on TV. I always listen to my own opinion when it comes to fashion, so yes, I do consider myself a Fashionista.
TCG: What is the hottest trend in fashion right now, and what do you see "in" for fall?
EFFIE: There are a few hot trends at the moment, but among my favorites are "double finger" knuckle rings, Loose fitting Crop Top T-shirts, and silly bandz:) My friends and I like to color coordinate our silly bandz to match our outfits:)
For the Fall expect to see a lot of Military inspired clothing; Camouflage and army greens will be in. Also Shirts and dresses with Shoulder pads and embellishments, a la Lady Gaga and Michael Jackson.
TCG: What did you want to be growing up?
EFFIE: I never really had an answer to this question when I was younger and I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. I always knew that I wanted to do something that would put my creative energy into good use. Right now I own a clothing store, but as my business grows and I grow who knows what the future has in store.
TCG: How did you end up in Fashion industry?
EFFIE: I didn't really "end up" in the Fashion Industry. One Day I woke up and decided I wanted to own a clothing store, and I made it happen. My friends always used to compliment my outfits and ask to borrow my clothing, so it made sense for me to open up a store of my own.
TCG: For those who cannot make it to the city- What is the easiest way to see and purchase items from Fashion lounge?
EFFIE: You can find us on Facebook (http://tinyurl.com/2gyayr9), where we update our latest items every week; we accept phone and internet orders and are currently working on our website, so stay tuned!
TCG: What can we expect from Fashion Lounge in the future?
EFFIE: Fashion Lounge will continue to bring you the latest Fashions of the season for 2010 and so forth. We may add a shoe section or a small men's t-shirt line in the future.
Effie's three looks of the month:

-Maxi Dresses first made their debut last summer, and they are back again this year for round 2. They are comfortable and easy to wear, in the day time with flip flops and for a night out with wedges. I like them because they are sexy and very lady like.

-Rompers are also in this month. A little less demure than Maxi Dresses but Rompers are fun short and flirty.

-Evil Eye Scarves have been in for a while and can be worn in a variety of ways. I like them best- paired with a white or black wife beater, but they can be also used as  head bands or beach covers.
