"Fashion is made to become unfashionable."
"Fashion fades, only style remains "
Coco Chanel's sense of style and feminine attitude changed the way women dressed then and for generations to come; Long after her time, her legacy lives on through her timeless brand.
It was her who decided to get rid of the uncomfortable corsets and multi-layer outfits, so women could finally breathe and be comfortable. Times were changing and more and more women had to start working to provide for their families, it only made sense to give them clothes that wouldn't restrain their movement.
Coco Chanel was born in Paris in 1883 and she built a multi-million dollar empire from nothing. She quickly became the most fashionable and controversial woman of her time because of her free lifestyle and strong opinion on a woman's place in the world. We all need to thank her for her beautiful creations and for giving us the idea of what freedom should be.
Today, Karl Lagerfeld runs Chanel's company and it's logo is one of the most recognized on planet earth. It doesn't matter if you are a celebrity, head of the country or a club girl. As long as you have a sense of fashion, you should have an appreciation for Coco Chanel and her creations.
